About

Camille Bugayong is a journalist and sophomore at Boston University pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Journalism. She has wanted to be a reporter since the sixth grade when she joined her middle school’s newspaper club (she still has her first press pass).

Camille has been the Co-News Director for WTBU News—the news department at Boston University’s student-run radio station—since January 2024. She has been a news writer for The Daily Free Press since January 2024 and became an associate editor in September 2024.

She is a Freelance Journalist for Montclair Local Nonprofit News whenever she’s home in New Jersey. Here, she covers local businesses, real estate, and issues important to the township.

During the Fall 2024 semester, she was the GBH News Investigative Unit Intern. For three months, Camille worked on an investigative story about the Massachusetts Educational Financing Authority’s practice of suing student loan borrowers.
